Privacy protocols
DATA COLLECTION
ANOMALY stores account and team details; submissions, solves, and hint usage; general-chat and Leads messages; uploaded attachments, avatars, and team logos; contact requests; and limited security audit data such as IP address, request path, and user-agent details.
DATA USAGE
• Your display name and team name are visible on the leaderboard.
• Your email address is kept private and not shared publicly.
• Your school and grade information is used for categorisation only.
• Submission data is logged for competition integrity purposes.
• Messages, attachments, and audit records support moderation, safety, and incident investigation.
EXTERNAL PROCESSING
Hosted AI processing for Leads is disabled by default. If event operators explicitly permit and enable it, Leads text, supported attachments, recent chat context, and organizer solution context may be transmitted to Mistral for moderator-only triage. Participants do not receive automated relevance verdicts.
DATA RETENTION
Participant data will be retained for the duration of the competition and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping purposes. After the event concludes, participants may request deletion of their data by contacting the organisers.
SECURITY
Passwords are hashed, and browser communications are protected in transit with HTTPS. Access controls, audit logging, and server-side upload validation reduce risk, but no online service can promise absolute security. Participant uploads are untrusted; open only files you expect. ANOMALY does not request camera, microphone, or precise location access.
